It is our great pleasure to invite you to the exhibition “Echos of Reality”, presented by Mexican artist and activist Álvaro Sebastián Quiroz Bolaños, from October 15 to 16, 2025 at The Fab (Maison de la Paix, Petal 2, 4th floor), Geneva, in the framework of Geneva Peace Week 2025.

This moving exhibition pays tribute to activists who lost their lives while defending justice, equity, and human rights. Through over a dozen powerful mixed-media portraits, rendered on body bags as canvases, Echos of Reality invites us to reflect on the costs of courage and the collective responsibility we share in honoring their legacies.

Beyond his sophisticated talent as one of Mexico’s leading contemporary painters, Álvaro is internationally recognized as a visionary activist. In 2024, he was honored as a Young Activists Summit Laureate, traveling worldwide to champion solidarity with houseless people and the LGBTQIA+ community. He is also the co-founder of Brigada 12 (2021), an organization dedicated to empowering people in crisis conditions across Latin America, and more recently launched IRIS, a global media and arts platform leveraging artistic talent for social good. His work transcends the canvas, combining creativity, advocacy, and social entrepreneurship. Global Hands is proud of our partnership with Alvaro and IRIS. Global Hands will be installing this exhibition and contributing two paintings to be shown.
